ActiveMenus

Product clarity for advanced restaurant software

Website design for ActiveMenus software - homepage on laptop in cafe

Overview

ActiveMenus is a restaurant software platform that provides an extensive toolkit for digital ordering, delivery logistics and management, automated marketing and customer loyalty. As more features and components were added over time, there was a growing need to clearly communicate how the ecosystem fit together for different types of restaurants and food businesses. We focused on refining the brand and product messaging, and redesigning the website to clearly demonstrate how all the capabilities and features worked together.

Challenge & Approach

The existing brand materials failed to delineate all the product offerings from ActiveMenus and who they served best. We restructured the information architecture and grouping of products, developed more concise messaging, and then designed a modular web system that clarified how ordering, delivery, and marketing all worked together.

The focus was on ecosystem clarity to help prospective customers understand the full value and benefits of the platform. The design style for the new brand was “approachable tech”, appealing to restaurant operators of all sizes from small mom n pop shops to large, corporate restaurant groups looking to streamline efficiency. Individualized messaging and landing pages were created to speak to specific pain points felt by each.

The Insight

Restaurant operators evaluating new tech don't think in terms of feature sets, they think about their own specific operation and pain points. We organized the site architecture to lead by different customer types. This allowed each audience to see their own situation reflected back, and provided a walk through of how the ActiveMenus ecosystem was most beneficial to them.

ActiveMenus gained a scalable digital system that has continued evolve alongside the product, without fragmenting the narrative or confusing customers.
